Imagine arriving after 10 minutes of narrow roads on a ridge overlooking the sea, and then looking up and seeing an entire hill, barren, forgotten, abandoned, like most of the surrounding land, with a “For Sale” sign… a normal person would have turned on their heel and perhaps said:
The place is certainly beautiful, but unfeasible! Let’s forget it!
…or something like this:
Only a madman would take it, or a billionaire arriving by helicopter! Let’s go home!
Well, two crazy people like us said, “Why not!”
I can’t say what attracted us here, perhaps the space, the hill, the two pine trees on the crest, and a dream that animated us: to bring the land and the hill back to life!
And here we are on this steep terrain, impervious to access, complicated to work, all on foot, no mechanical means to help us… after three years of small steps we are starting to see something moving in the hoped-for direction: restoring the vegetation that can recreate a living ecosystem…
